JHA Employment, Training Program Celebrates Brand-new Graduates

The Johnstown Housing Authority’s Employment and Training Program commemorated 8 graduates of the program’s second cohort who entered a new phase of life Friday.

The ceremony at Pennsylvania Highlands Community College in Richland Township marked a new beginning for the graduates, who are set to look for additional education or employment in the Johnstown location, stated JHA Executive Director career.ltu.bg Mike Alberts.

For the past four months, those registered in the program completed courses offered by a collaboration amongst Penn Highlands, Area Regional Industries and PA CareerLink.

The program included courses provided at Johnstown public real estate community rooms to get rid of individuals’ transport barriers.

The curriculum included dispute management, job search and interview abilities, Microsoft Word and Excel, and life abilities management, in addition to excursion for Other Loans a robotics bootcamp and trips of technology-based manufacturing business including Kitron and Compass Systems.

The ceremony Friday celebrated the eight graduates of the program while acknowledging lots more who registered, but opted out after discovering work or other additional education opportunities along the method.
